A delegation from Vanuatu led by Internal Affairs Minister Andrew Napuat visited Changchun, Jilin province, on April 1.
Jing Junhai, governor of Jilin province, welcomed the delegation, saying that Jilin greatly values its friendly relations with Vanuatu and that a solid foundation has been laid for mutual cooperation between the two parties.
Jing said that the province, which enjoys a favorable location in the middle of Northeast Asia and acts as a northern window for China, plans on further opening up to the outside world.
Jing hoped for stronger cooperation between the two parties in science and technology, education, culture, and tourism.
Andrew Napuat spoke highly of Jilin's achievements in economic and social development and environmental protection. He promised to enhance cooperation with Jilin and promote cooperative projects to consolidate friendly exchanges.
