Axel Weber, vice-president medical robotics at Kuka, the German manufacturer of industrial robots, said the prospect of starting a new kind of discussion on health, especially on a regional basis, was an interesting one, and could help unlock more opportunities.

"I think the market potential and know-how in China is great, so if you develop a new technology or a new medical product, you have fast access to broader population, especially on elderly care,"he said.
"It's important to get the right partners to each other. There are lot of ideas coming from Germany but we are just missing certain potential markets and market opportunities so I see big chances for both sides to cooperate."
