Members of the Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA) visited Jinan on March 28 during the 51st session of CCFA and were deeply impressed by the city's unique scenery and spring culture.
The 120 committee members from different countries visited the city's Baotu Spring Park, the best spot in the city for those looking to enjoy some lovely springtime scenery. Another site, Shandong Museum, offered foreigners the chance for an up-close look at numerous precious cultural relics.
At Baihuazhou Street, committee members tried to write Chinese characters, dressed up in traditional Chinese clothing and learned to play Shandong allegro.
Mac Connacher from Britain said he immediately fell in love with the historical city. He hopes to have more chances to visit Jinan in the future and enjoy more of its local customs.
The 51st session of CCFA was held on March 25-29 and offered an international exchange platform for issues related to food additive standards.
The event also played an important role in promoting Jinan's reputation, boosting its exhibition industry and further fueling the growth of new economic drivers.
