Jilin province authorities signed a cooperation agreement with China Agriculture University in Changchun on Mar 27.
Jing Junhai, governor of Jilin province, received the delegation led by Sun Qixin, president of the university.
Jing said that the two parties had been cooperating for years to improve crop varieties and protect the environment – both of which have seen fruitful results. Jing expressed his desire to begin cooperating as soon as possible so that rural vitalization could be carried out, increasing farmers' incomes and ensuring national food security.
According to the agreement, the two parties will work toward technological innovations that can aid in the protection of black earth and the improvement of crop varieties, experiment with planting pear trees, strengthen personnel exchanges, and promote the application of research results.
President Sun said that the university would deepen cooperation with Jilin province and promote the application of new technology throughout the province.
