Baotou to boost spring tourism

Baotou, the biggest city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is to boost its spring tourism market with recently added exciting new tourism products , according to a March 29 report in the Baotou Daily.

Here are some of the highlights of the city’s most popular tourist attractions this Spring:

An Aladdin’s cave of fascinating artifacts goes on display. Baotou opened its museum about the Yellow River on July 18, 2017. Located in the city’s Jiuyuan district, the museum covers an area of 1,000 square meters. The museum boasts some 2,000 collections assembled by Li Tiandong, a local architect and designer, and 20 exhibition rooms designed in the shape of traditional Baotou residential architecture. More than 10 themed zones have been set up in the museum -- including a carpentry shop, a blacksmith’s and a cobbler’s workshop to -- represent daily life scenes from the past. [Photo/Baotou Daily]
