Harbin partners with rail giant on infrastructure

The northeastern Chinese city of Harbin recently signed a strategic agreement with China Railway Group Limited to cooperate on the integrated construction of transportation and urban development.

According to the accord the group, which is one of the world's biggest construction and engineering contractors, will give full play to its advantages in capital, technology, management and skilled technicians to provide services for construction of the city's infrastructure.

The services include investment and financing, consulting and planning, design and construction, management operations and resource development.

Several cooperation projects are on the schedule, including Harbin's metro line 4 and a second traffic line to Harbin Taiping International Airport.
