The museum is located in Otog Banner in Ordos, and covers 320 square meters. It is divided into four exhibition sections: the history of Chinese coins, coins from ancient times, coins from the Sui and Tang dynasties (581-907), the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), and the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911); as well as a section for coins from the Republic of China to the present.
The museum has 10,000 coins in its collection, all of which were donated by Wang Jixiang, a private collector in Otog Banner, who has spent more than 30 years acquiring his collection.
