The Ordos Municipal Government on March 26 signed a memorandum of understanding with two Chinese aviation giants at the city meeting on boosting the local aviation industry.
The government reached a deal with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China and Genghis Khan Airlines for them to build a training center, open an aviation college at an Ordos university and establish a maintenance center.
The new training center will provide instruction in plane maintenance, air security and flight attendant courses.
The College of Giant Aircraft will be set up at the Ordos Institute of Technology, providing academic education for university students and training for staff members of aviation companies.
The maintenance center of planes will be established at Ordos International Airport.
The meeting was attended by Ai Lihua, vice-chairwoman of Inner Mongolia autonomous region; Siqinbilige, mayor of Ordos; Jin Wu and Ma Yongfei, vice-mayors of Ordos, and executives from the two aviation companies.
