Once again, Nanning and Guilin were named National Hygienic Cities by the Office of the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
In addition to the two Guangxi cities, Liuzhou's Luzhai county was also listed among the 93 cities (districts) and 236 counties (villages/towns) across the country that passed unannounced inspections in 2018.

Being named a National Hygienic City is a prestigious honor that requires high standards in health education, sanitation, environmental protection, food and water safety, infectious disease prevention and control, and pest extermination.
Guilin and Nanning received the title in 2005 and 2011, respectively. Nanning was selected as one of the first 36 National Pilot Health Cities in 2016.
