An innovative project -- employing dishes to track the sun, using solar energy to supply heat -- has entered the last phase of fine tuning, and will soon start full operations in Mukai Nur town, in Otog Banner, in Ordos, at the end of March, according to a recent local media report.
The project, which started in October 2018, is operated by Ordos Mengao New Energy Co, and will supply heating to some 35,000 square meters when fully operational.
Utilizing solar power tracking and advanced technology, the facilities are expected to boost the efficiency for collecting solar energy, marking a technical breakthrough for the company.
It is estimated that the facilities will help the local area save consumption of nearly 1,000 tons of coal annually and reduce 2,649 tons of carbon dioxide emission.
While supplying heat to local residents, the facilities can also supply steam and hot water for industrial use.
