Two key standards formulated by Ordos' cashmere giant Erdos Group have recently been approved by the China National Textile and Apparel Council, according to a recent local news report.
The two standards, which have the codes T/CNTAC 29-2018 and T/CNTAC 30-2018, are concerned with methods of evaluating the water footprint created during the production of cashmere products, and of testing the water balance of a cashmere product company.
Organized by the China Wool Textile Association, the establishment of the duo of standards were drafted and decided by Erdos Group with the support from the national apparel council and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Officials said the release of the new guidelines had further improved the standards system for China’s cashmere industry, and offered practical methods to evaluate a company’s production process with regards to environmental protection.
