The 29th Plum Blossom Award finals are scheduled to be held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from April 13 to 23, according to a press conference on March 26.
The Plum Blossom Award is China's top theatrical award. It is given to young and middle-aged actors every two years. A total of 681 opera and drama performers have received the award since its inception in 1983.
This year, 17 contestants qualified for the finals after multiple rounds of selection. Their performances spanned 12 genres, including drama, Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, Huangmei Opera, Zhuang Opera, and more, which can be witnessed at the Guangxi Culture and Art Center, Nanning Opera House, Nanning Great Hall of the People, Tongxin Great Hall, and Yongzhou Opera House.

Tickets can be brought online at www.damai.cn and www.wpiao.cn, with prices ranging from 20 yuan to 80 yuan ($3 to $12).
