The first Smurf theme park in the Asia-Pacific region is to land in Songjiang, Shimao Group, the constructor, and the copyright owner, International Merchandising Promotions & Services S.A. announced last week.
The first phase of the park, which sits beside the quarry hotel InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, also a property under Shimao, was unveiled in December.
The second and third phases, however, will be built featuring interactive games and character performances, with support from IMPS.
Apart from fun rides, challenging field events and AR cartoon scenes will also provide immersive experience for visitors.
Dynamic settings of light and weather changes will make the place seem more real.

At the same time they serve as representatives to promote the 17 Sustainable Development Goals unveiled by the United Nations, focusing on poverty elimination, good health, quality education, gender equality and others.
