Guilin introduces post-travel payment model

A new tourism model known as "Easy Go, Easy Pay" is being carried out among an alliance of nine 5A- and 4A-level scenic spots throughout Guilin, allowing tourists to make payment after they finish their trips.

The alliance, established in Yangshuo county on March 24, is aimed at building up trust between visitors, travel agencies, and tourist attractions.

Members include Lijiang River, Guilin Solitary Beauty Peak & Prince City, Two Rivers and Four Lakes & Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave, Longji Rice Terraces, Shiwaitaoyuan (Land of Idyllic Beauty), Gudong Waterfall, Free and Unfettered Lake, and Bajiaozhai scenic areas.

Guilin is renowned as a tourist city with international influence. The new alliance demonstrates its important role in the innovative development of the tourism industry. More scenic spots, hotels, and travel agencies are expected to join the alliance, said Wei Fengyun, deputy mayor of Guilin, at the launch ceremony.

Long known for its picturesque karst landscapes, the city received 109.15 million tourists who generated 138.8 billion yuan ($20.7 billion) in revenue in 2018, up 32.58 percent and 42.86 percent, respectively, from the year before.
