Clivia exhibition opens in Changchun

The 15th China Changchun Clivia Festival opened in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, on March 21 and will last until March 25.

Hosted by the Jilin Flower Association, Jilin Clivia Association, Changchun trade promotion committee, and Changchun agriculture committee, the festival covers an area measuring 20,000 square meters and contains 1,200 stands, 800 of which are for clivia and 400 are for other flowers.

Clivia associations from more than 30 provinces and cities across the country are participating in the event, exhibiting more than 35,000 clivia plants.

As its city flower, the Changchun clivia industry has achieved extensive growth over the recent years.

Changchun currently has 25 planting bases with more than five greenhouses each, and more than 3,000 households have planted over 200 million clivia plants, generating annual sales revenue of over 2 billion yuan ($29.84 million).
