The 2019 Guangxi Prefabricated Construction Exhibition opened at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center on March 21.
Thousands of visitors poured into the five different areas exhibiting prefabricated concrete, steel and wooden structures, prefabricated farmhouses and various types of machinery.
More than 40 enterprises and scientific institutions, including Guangxi Construction Engineering Group, China Resources (Holdings) Co Ltd, and the Guangxi Institute of Building Research and Design, have showcased their latest achievements.
Experts also convened in Nanning for in-depth discussions on the integrated design of prefabricated architecture, the application and prospects of prefabricated wooden structures in Guangxi's cultural tourism industry, and more.
Guangxi has begun promoting prefabricated architecture in four pilot cities, namely Nanning, Liuzhou, Hezhou and Yulin. As of late 2018, more than 20 percent of new architecture was prefabricated, and this proportion is expected to exceed 30 percent by the end of 2025, said Yang Lyufeng, deputy head of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
