Heilongjiang has made great efforts to deepen the supply-side structural reform and foster new engines for economic growth. The province possesses diverse pillar industries, including new materials, green food, biopharmaceuticals, equipment manufacturing and tourism.

New material industry

Recent years have seen a rapid growth in the new materials industry in Heilongjiang. The province now has preliminarily established industrial clusters in iron, advanced non-ferrous metal, advanced polymer materials, high performance fiber reinforced composites and new graphite materials. In the first half of 2018, revenue and added-value in new materials companies above designated size respectively increased by over 30 percent and 14 percent over the same period last year.
