Ningbo Lishe International Airport witnessed a great boom in its passenger throughput last year, thanks to a major upgrade of an operating system.
Statistics show that the airport saw the arrival of its 10 millionth passenger of 2018 on Nov 9, the first time that the airport has hit the threshold in annual passenger throughput.
The airport also saw substantial passenger throughput growth year-on-year, at 24.8 percent.
The rapid growth can be attributed to its application of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) system, which integrates the airport, air traffic management authorities and airlines to realize better resource allocation through data sharing, and thus enhance the operation efficiency of the airport and airlines.
With this system, the airport manages to contact the air traffic control authorities immediately when finding about any possible flight delay, and try to prevent it from happening through collaboration.
"The system upgrading is ultimately for the better travel experience of our passengers," said a staff member of the airport.
The system is now equipped with functions such as airport monitoring, flight management and weather analysis, and will continue to be improved to meet the needs of passengers for a satisfying flight that is on time, according to an airport spokesperson.
