A series of activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of friendly cooperative relations between the Harbin Institute of Technology and the Russian Pacific National University took place in Harbin, in Heilongjiang province on March 16.
Since signing their first cooperation agreement in March, 1989, the two sides have continued to expand the scale of their working relations -- from sending students to study at each other's university, visits by scholars, regular academic conferences, jointly applications on major research issues, to promoting the continuing development of the China-Russia Engineering University Alliance.
To celebrate the achievements the two sides have made in academic cooperation and exchanges, trees symbolizing hope and good wishes were planted in the campus of the Harbin Institute of Technology.
Another celebratory activity that took place was a visit to the Monument to the Soviet Red Army and the Museum of Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Army, in a bid to promote cultural communications and exchanges between China and Russia.
