Government departments in Hohhot plan to invest 344 million yuan ($50.64 million) this year for spring plowing across the city, the Hohhot financial department announced on March 15.
According to the local government, it will implement its farm subsidy policy to ensure agricultural output levels.
Local officials said that to date, 48 million yuan has been offered for the purchase of agricultural machines, and in addition the government has invested 4.55 million yuan on training farmers.
Funds have also been spent on water resources development, protection of forest resources, and projects to return farmland to forestry, officials added.
