Baogang firm reports strong export data

Baotou Steel International Economic & Trading Co, one of the main subsidiaries of Baogang Group (also known as Baotou Iron and Steel Group), reported increased exports with 207,000 tons of steel products sent to foreign countries in January, according to Baotou Daily.

During the same month, the firm started to change the focus of its exports. In terms of hot rolling, it took pipeline steel as its product positioning, actively explored the market, and successfully obtained qualified supplier status off the relevant authorities.

In January alone, the export volume of pipeline steel was 13,000 tons, and the contracted volume reached 142,000 tons, exceeding the export volume of 130,000 tons of pipeline steel in 2018.

In order to keep pace with international competitors, the company continued to improve and optimize its hot dip galvanized coil products. It has developed new materials and specifications to meet market demand.

According to the firm, the advantages of hot-dip galvanized products are long-lasting protection against corrosion and widely adaptable to the environment. They are widely used in electric power towers, communications equipment, railways, highway protection, street lighting, marine components, steel structures, and substation ancillary facilities.

This year, the company will continue to develop new international markets, especially in Belt and Road countries. In January, the company's steel exports involved 23 Belt and Road countries, accounting for more than 80 percent of the total volume of exports.
