The Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner is the only area in Baotou city where most residents belong to the Mongolian ethnic group, according to local officials.
They added that in order to enable Mongolian taxpayers to effectively enjoy the dividends brought about by various tax incentives and fully access communications and publicity, the tax bureau in the banner is continuing to promote Mongolian and Chinese bilingual services to its ethnic people.
In response to language barriers encountered by Mongolian taxpayers in policy consultation and tax-related matters, the bureau set up a bilingual station in the Taxation Service Department. Tax collectors there are proficient in Mongolian and Chinese, and are able to help taxpayers fill in the information forms and familiarize themselves with the process.
In addition, the tax collectors will help promote the taxation policies to Mongolian taxpayers.
