Inner Mongolia has made remarkable results in promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements with a total of 144 science and technology industrial parks built so far, the science and technology department in the region announced on March 12.

The region has made the transformation of scientific and technological achievements a priority for years.

Inner Mongolia has introduced a series of policies to optimize the policy environment for transformation for scientific achievements.

It strengthened the construction of platforms and carriers for the transformation. At present, the autonomous region has built 144 science and technology industrial parks and bases of various types, including 28 national ones.

Some 11 state-level science and technology business incubators, 223 maker spaces and 164 innovation and entrepreneurship spaces in rural areas were also been built along with a tiered incubation and cultivation system.

A large number of projects in industries such as energy, metallurgy, green agricultural and livestock products processing, equipment manufacturing, and biotechnology have been organized and targeted for promotion in the region.

Efforts were also made to build trading platforms for scientific and technological achievements, cultivating four state-level service institutions for technology transfer, and forming a resource allocation system integrating online and offline services.

In 2018, a total of 6,277 technology deals were made in the region, with the value of technology contracts reaching 23.6 billion yuan ($3.52 billion), up 66.7 percent and 45 percent year-on-year respectively.

To support and motivate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the autonomous region set up a special fund of 500 million yuan for enterprises, institutions and scientific research institutions.

Inner Mongolia has also provided intellectual property rights mortgage services for enterprises. Last year, it invested 6.77 million yuan in compensation funding, leveraging loans of 69.7 million yuan.
