The Shulanghu ore transfer terminal of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province witnessed its cargo throughput breaking the threshold of 100 million metric tons as of March 12, at 106 million tons, a significant milestone in the history of the port.

Built in May 2013, the terminal started operations on Jan 26, 2016 when it received the first foreign vessel SAVINA.

Its cargo handling capacity improved so much that a 400,000-ton ore vessel, the world's largest, arrived and discharged cargo at the terminal eight months later.

The terminal now boasts two of the nation's seven berths with the capacity of handling 400,000-ton vessels, and handled nearly 30 such vessels last year.

It is set to maintain stable growth of its cargo throughput this year, and push forward the building of an iron ore distribution hub in Northeast Asia, to drive forward the development of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Zhoushan.
