The Uganda-Jilin Economic and Trade Promotion Conference was held in Changchun, Jilin's provincial capital, on March 11.
Hosted by the Jilin commerce department and the embassy of Uganda in China, the conference aimed to boost bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Personnel from the embassy of Uganda in China introduced areas, methods, and policies of investment in Uganda, with the goal of attracting investment from Jilin province.
In their pursuit of foreign investment, the Ugandan government intends to provide preferential policies in five areas, namely agriculture, processing and manufacturing industry, industrial park construction, export, and tourism.
Many companies in Jilin province have already invested in projects in Uganda, and during the conference, nearly 20 companies showed interest in investing in Uganda.
