In the current year Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will allocate 4.8 million yuan ($710,000) to support the development of the Baotou Science and Technology Museum, according to the city’s finance bureau.
The museum, located in its Jiuyuan district, covers 24,866 square meters and has a display area of 11,440 sq m. It is home to 328 exhibits and is the best place in the city to learn about the latest in scientific developments and technology.
The museum has four halls in four different areas –– one is a dedicated science park for children and the others are themed around exploration and discovery, science and technology and deep space.
It also boasts an XD cinema with 4D technology, allowing visitors to enjoy the latest technology while learning about the museum’s exhibits. In addition, some of the exhibits are interactive, giving visitors a practical hands-on experience.
The museum has received a total of 540,000 visitors so far. In December 2018, it was selected in the second batch of science popularization demonstration bases appointed by the Science and Technology Department of Inner Mongolia.
