The second Humen Bridge
The second Humen Bridge (also known as Nansha Bridge) was built to ease traffic pressure on the first Humen Bridge. Construction of the second bridge started in April 2014. It links Dongguan's Humen township to Guangzhou's Nansha district, where Nansha Port is situated.
With a length of 12.89 km, the bridge is about 20 km upstream from Humen Bridge and 10 km downstream from the first Humen Bridge.
As construction of the bridge reached its final stage recently, it is expected that traffic will start to flow across it in May. After its completion, the bridge will become a new pathway crossing the Pearl River and be of great significance to the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
