Humen Bridge
Construction of Humen Bridge began in October 1992, and the bridge was formally opened on June 9, 1997. It was the first large suspension bridge designed and constructed independently by China.
The bridge, with a length of 15.76 km, connects the Nansha district of Guangzhou to Humen Town in Dongguan. Since its establishment it has been an essential traffic hub linking the east and west sides of the Pearl River and a landmark tourist destination in Dongguan.
