The second season of Aerial China, a natural landscape documentary series produced by China Central Television (CCTV), immediately grabbed the attention of viewers when broadcast recently, showcasing some of the most breathtaking scenery from the nation's provinces. Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province made an appearance in the first episode.

It shows the natural beauty of Mount Putuo, one of China's top four Buddhist mountains, and tells the legend of Guanyin, a Buddhist goddess in Chinese culture.

Another highlight is the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the world's largest port by cargo turnover. It is told in the documentary that the port handles two fifths of China's oil and one third of its iron ore, and cargo from more than 600 ports in 100 countries and regions is transferred at the port.

In addition, busy scenes of the fishery in Zhoushan, one of the four major offshore fisheries in China, with nearly 3,000 fishing vessels setting sail from the port are shown in the program.

Actually, it is not the first time that Zhoushan has been shown in the series. Its Donghai Bridge appeared in the first season as the world's second largest cross-sea bridge, and the Small Yangshan Island in the city's Shengsi county was displayed as part of the Yangshan Deep Water Port, one of the world's largest container ports.
