The new high-capacity La-Y-Ni hydrogen storage alloy developed by the Functional Materials Research Institute of Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earth was recently granted an invention patent in Japan, according to Baotou Daily.
This is the second invention patent that Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earth has gained in Japan, the first being for La-Fe-B hydrogen storage material.
The La-Y-Ni hydrogen storage material is a new high-capacity hydrogen storage material independently developed by Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earth. Its components do not contain high-value elements such as Pr, Nd and Co. Compared with similar products in Japan, its manufacturing process is simpler and safer, providing excellent value for money and good marketing prospects.
