Tianshui Economic and Technological Development Zone was upgraded to a national-level development zone in 2010. It now administers five industrial parks and the Qiaonan commerce, culture and tourism area.
The zone aims to increase its planning construction area to 100 square kilometers by the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) and its annual sales revenue is expected to surpass 100 billion yuan ($14.77 billion) at that time.
It develops machine manufacturing, electrical engineering and electric apparatus as well as electronic information and also focuses on new materials, new energy and biomedicine. The zone is home to more than 100 companies.
