Inner Mongolia will continue to extend international cooperation and exchanges this year, said Jin Ruisheng at a meeting held on Feb 28.
Jin, president of Inner Mongolia committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade said that Inner Mongolia will organize forums and exhibitions regarding international economic and technological cooperation and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.
The region will also participate in the 2019 International Horticultural Expo in Beijing and Expo 2020 in Dubai to promote Inner Mongolian brands to the world, he said.
Jin introduced at the meeting that Inner Mongolia held more than 50 economic and trade events including the commodity exhibition in Ulaanbaatar over the past year.
More than 670 people were sent abroad to attend international exhibitions and negotiate for cross-country cooperation in 2018, yielding 48 partnership agreements and expressions of intent, with total funding reaching 31.5 billion yuan ($4.69 billion).
He also mentioned that Inner Mongolia enhanced economic and trade cooperation with Russia, Japan, Mongolia, South Korea, and countries along the Belt and Road.
According to the meeting, Inner Mongolia also established consulates in the United States, Belgium, Mongolia and elsewhere in 2018. It received 12 overseas delegations and signed agreements with four foreign institutions.
