Hohhot airport starts female-only security checks

Hohhot Baita International Airport has opened a special women-only security channel for female passengers, according to an announcement made by the airport on March 6.

The new initiative is part of efforts to give female passengers more privacy as they clear security at the port.

The airport claims that by providing the special channel it will be able to provide items commonly used by female passengers. 

In addition, the airport offers free deposit service for women to leave items that are not allowed on aircraft.

The airport also claims its efficiency in clearing passengers through security will be improved by around 10 percent, thanks to the new channel.  

In the future, the airport plans to open dedicated channels for passengers with no luggage to further improve efficiency at the airport.
