The Huamao Foreign Language School in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province will have a library designed by the famous architect Toyo Ito, a 2013 laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, in the near future.
The library is now in the preliminary design stage, according to the local natural resources and planning authorities.
It is planned to have six floors, one underground and five aboveground, with a floor area of 14,800 square meters.
It will be equipped with a concert hall, a theatre training room, an auditorium, an exhibition hall, a children's playground and several classrooms.
The exterior of the library will feature a glass structure that makes the library, which stands across the school river, look like a big aquarium.
The Pritzker Architecture Prize, established in 1979, is granted annually and is often referred to as "architecture's Nobel" and "the profession's highest honor."
