NetEase Games, a leading developer of PC and mobile games for people around the worldwide, will begin using its headquarters in Tianhe Smart City next month, according to Southcn.com in a report on March 5.

At a conference in Tianhe on March 4 to promote Guangzhou's key projects for 2019, Zhang Fengyi, vice president of NetEase, revealed that the first phase of the headquarters project had been completed. Receiving 500 million yuan ($74.6 million) in investment, the headquarters cover an area of 37,000 square meters and will be capable of hosting 3,000 employees.
The first phase of the project will consist of building a smart industrial R&D center and a game headquarters. The second phase, which was launched in the second half of 2018, is scheduled to begin this April. It will cover an area of over 52,500 square meters and is expected to receive 1.7 billion in investment.

"We will work to complete the project as quickly as possible while maintaining quality and ensuring safety. Our goal is to finish the comprehensive park, which will offer offices, catering services, and commercial displays, by the end of 2021, said Zhang. He said the complex, which is green, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly, will likely become one of the Guangzhou Tianhe Software Park's most iconic buildings.
