Haikou's promotional tourism seminar came to a close in Nanning, Guangxi on March 3.
Haikou, capital of Hainan province, has held a total of seven promotional activities in the Beibu Gulf Urban Cluster over the past three years, which has brought friendships among cluster members to a new level.
It's a great way for Haikou to promote cooperation among members of the Beibu Gulf Urban Cluster and spur the development of the area.
Cities around the Beibu Gulf boast healthy ecosystems, rich traditional culture, and promising tourism markets, providing a strong foundation for their cooperation in cultural tourism development.
The Beibu Gulf Urban Cluster has huge market potential, with over 40 million inhabitants spread throughout its more than 10 cities, said Feng Honghao, vice mayor of Haikou, during the promotional tourism seminar. Cluster members are seeking cooperation on the basis of complementary strengths for mutually beneficial results. Haikou hopes to open up a new shipping route with other cluster members to help invigorate inbound tourism.
The cooperation will promote the development of tourism in Haikou and facilitate the construction of the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and a free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
