Shenyang offers free accommodation to graduate jobseekers

Graduate students looking for a job are now able to enjoy free accommodation in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning province.

The new scheme, which started on Feb 26 is one of a number of preferential measures enacted by the local government to attract graduates from across China to the city.

University graduates seeking jobs in Shenyang will have the opportunity to use the accommodation for up to 10 nights, for a maximum of 30 days per year, with the accommodation freely provided by Shenyang human resources and social security bureau.

The accommodation includes a bathroom, internet, air conditioning, TV and other facilities, rather like an express hotel. The whole check-in procedure takes less than five minutes.

In addition, the human resources and social security bureau will provide information for jobseekers, including on the living and working conditions of the city. 

Currently, there are 300 free beds available for jobseekers at a location near Shenyang North Railway Station, with the accommodation representing the first of its kind in Shenyang. 

And the city plans to open more such facilities in the future, according to a member of staff from Shenyang human resources and social security bureau.

Jobseekers that want to stay in the accommodation must meet several requirements, including having obtained a bachelor's degree or above in the last five years. They must also have a registered address outside Shenyang and have proof that they have a job interview with a local firm.

Qualified applicants will receive an email reply from the government agency with a confirmation message within 24 hours.
