Local school still the best on mainland

Shanghai High School International Division replaced YK Pao School to top the second list of international schools on China's mainland released March 5.

Ranked 5th last year, the international division of a Chinese public school was followed by Dulwich College Beijing, while YK Pao School, a Shanghai private school, dropped to third.

The ranking of 100 schools in 24 cities was based on peer review conducted by Hurun Education between July and December 2018, with 330 international education experts.

Beijing and Shanghai accounted for half of the list this year: Beijing with 26 schools (up 5) and Shanghai with 23 (down 3).

Beijing also had the most schools among the top 10 on the list, with five, followed by Shanghai with four.

The other two Shanghai schools among the top 10 are Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy and Shanghai Pinghe Bilingual School.
