Guangxi plans to make full use of its geographical strength, preferential policies, and natural resources to seize upon development opportunities brought by the neighboring Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
This was announced by the Development and Reform Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on March 5.
To achievement this, Guangxi will push ahead with 28 major projects divided into seven categories to boost transport connectivity, industrial integration, and the establishment of cooperation platforms with Guangdong province.
Preparatory work for the Nanning-Yulin-Shenzhen and Zhangjiajie-Guilin-Haikou high-speed railways will be advanced to ensure that construction can begin as soon as possible.
In addition, the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt is set to connect the less developed parts of Southwest China with the highly developed Pearl River Delta. Guangxi will serve as an important bridge between the two areas.
Cooperation platforms, including the Guangdong-Guangxi Interprovincial Pilot Cooperation Special Zone and the pilot cooperation area of the Guangdong-Guangxi-Guizhou High-Speed Railway Economic Belt, are expected to absorb the industrial benefits brought by the Greater Bay Area.
