Changsha to build Hunan's largest comprehensive social welfare center

Changsha's Furong district and the Shanghai Yixian Renshoutang Nursing Home signed a contract on Feb 25 to build Hunan's largest comprehensive social welfare center.

The center will be built by the local government and run privately.

Construction will finish in April, and the center will start operating in August. It will cover a total area of 50 mu (3.3 hectares), with a floor space of 62,000 hectares. It sits beside Liuyang River, with East Lake Wetland Park to its north. It is easily accessible and offers pleasant scenery.

The project leader introduced over 1,000 beds to the center, and high quality equipment will be offered for the elderly. The center will provide rehabilitation services, medical aid, leisure and entertainment facilities, a university for the elderly, and nursing care.
