Shanghai plans to set up a credit development center for youth, according to the Youth League Shanghai Committee.
The center – the first of its kind in China – will aim to facilitate personal credit with volunteer service, assisted by big data technology.
Shanghai currently has 1.27 million registered volunteers. During the China International Import Expo in the city last year, a total of 8,508 volunteers contributed nearly 240,000 hours of volunteer service, with each volunteer averaging 27.75 hours.
Among them, Zhou Haotian of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance contributed 162.15 hours, making him the volunteer with the longest service during the expo.
Shanghai International Studies University dispatched a total of 388 volunteers during the expo, followed by 168 volunteers from East China University of Political Science and Law.
Volunteers from China Railway Shanghai Branch contributed a total of 8,662.92 hours of volunteer service for urban development last year.
