An engineering school jointly established by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and Russia's Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU) unveiled its name plaque at HIT, Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, on Feb 25.
The establishment of the HIT-BMSTU Joint School of Engineering marked a new level of cooperation between HIT and BMSTU, since the two universities first established the Sino-Russia Engineering Technology University Alliance in 2011.
The new school is a public education provider which will offer courses to undergraduates from later this year.
Enrolled students will be registered at both HIT and BMSTU and they will have access to the two universities' courses and teaching materials.
At present, only two majors –– materials and the environment –– are available for undergraduates to choose. In the future, other top-ranking engineering majors taught at BMSTU will be offered at the school.
