Sino-Russian trade route completes first trip of 2019

Recently, the ship "MSR No 1" arrived at Zhenhai Harbor, Ningbo completing the first trip of 2019 in a newly established Sino-Russian trade route. 

Loaded with 102 containers, the MSR No 1 successfully delivered its goods along the route that passes through Hunchun,Jilin province, Zarubino Port, Russia, and Ningbo, Zhejiang. 

The goods loaded in the ship were mainly copper plate products processed in Hunchun, with a value of 130 million yuan ($19.41 million).

The route was first approved to be built in July 2018, starting its trial run in September of the same year. To carry out the Belt and Road Initiative, the route was opened to effectively solve the bottleneck problems related to the transport of corn, wood, and other commodities. 

In addition,the trade route has also broadened the channel for the transport of light industrial products from southeast China to northeast China and Inner Mongolia, marking the cooperation between Jilin province and Zhejiang province to create a new pattern in Sino-Russian cross-border transportation.

The route has also shortened the transport distance and time for the cross-border transportation of domestic trade goods departing from Jilin province, while reducing the cost of logistics.
