Guangxi NPC delegation holds 1st plenary meeting

A delegation of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region deputies to the second session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) held their first plenary meeting at the Beijing Guangxi Hotel on March 3.

Lu Xinshe, Party secretary of Guangxi, was selected as the head of the delegation in a unanimous vote. Chen Wu, chairman of Guangxi, Sun Dawei, deputy Party secretary of Guangxi, and Wang Yuefei, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional People's Congress, were chosen as deputy heads.

The delegation deliberated on a list (draft) of presidium and secretary-generals for the second session of the 13th NPC, as well as the agenda (draft) for the session.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. All Guangxi deputies to the NPC must shoulder the responsibilities entrusted to them in the Constitution, said Lu at the plenary meeting.

He urged deputies to examine the reports and draft laws seriously during the annual legislative session, while also making high-quality proposals and suggestions in line with national policies and Guangxi's current situation.

The second session of the 13th NPC will begin on March 5 in Beijing.
