The Zhanjiang West Railway Station hosted 2,056 trains carrying 69,000 passengers during the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, which came to an end on March 1. An average of 1,700 passengers passed though the train station each day.
Automated self-verification channels relying on facial recognition technology greatly reduced queuing times at the station's entrance. Passengers just needed to scan their second-generation ID cards and look at a camera for a quick check-in.

The high-speed railway station also recruited around 30 volunteers, set up a temporary after-midnight waiting lounge, and arranged for early-morning bus lines to better serve passengers.
