Chen Ronghao, a silk painting artist from Quanzhou, Fujian province was invited to show two works at the Art Capital at Grand Palais, Paris, France from Feb 12 to 17. The paintings won the French painting salon creation gold award and the French artist salon best abstract creation award.
After the exhibition, the two silk paintings, Sea and Reef and River in Hometown, were collected by Salon des Artistes Francais and Dessin & Peinture à l'eau.
It was the third time that Chen’s works have been shown at the Art Capital at Grand Palais. His pieces Sunrise, Starry night and Untitled have been exhibited before, showing the world the unique charm of Quanzhou silk painting.
Art Capital, which originated in 1884, is one of the most historic art exhibitions in France. It is an art activity with the highest official academic and professional level based on the French Ministry of Culture and Institut de France. Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Salvador Dali, Picasso, Zhao Wuji and Zhu Dequn were all known at Art Capital. This year’s exhibition attracted artists from nearly 50 countries around the world.
