From January to December 2018, a total of 192.97 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 29.07 trillion) was traded in the Chinese foreign exchange market.
In December, the Chinese foreign exchange market (excluding foreign currency pairs, the same below) recorded total transaction of 21.02 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 3.05 trillion). Specifically, the transaction volume of the bank to customer market was 2.46 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 357.7 billion), the transaction volume of interbank market was 18.56 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 2.70 trillion), the cumulative transaction volume of the spot market was 7.69 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 1.12 trillion), and that of the derivatives market was 13.33 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 1.94 trillion).
