Wuxi boasts best customer market

Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province ranked first in terms of customer satisfaction in 2018 with a grade of 75.82, according to an investigation by the China Customers Association. The results were released on Feb 26.

Seventy cities were investigated for 2018, an expansion from 50 for 2017. Wuxi has been in first place for two consecutive years, followed each time by Nantong and Shanghai. The average grade of the 70 cities was 73.68. Forty-four cities that have taken part in the investigation for the two years showed improvement in the rankings.

The association initiated the investigation of customer satisfaction in 2017 in a bid to learn about customers' evaluations and requirements and thus provide references for local governments and departments to improve the consumption environment. In 2018, the State Council issued Several Opinions on Promoting Consumption Systems and Mechanisms and Further Stimulating Household Consumption Potential which stipulated establishment of "a long-term investigation and evaluation mechanism of customer satisfaction".

The association improved the indicator system of 2017 for 2018 by including 43 indications of three levels for a more professional evaluation of customer satisfaction.
