Jinan holds groundbreaking ceremony for 270 projects in 2019

A grand groundbreaking ceremony for the 270 projects of Jinan city was held at the same tine in different districts and counties of Jinan city on Feb 27.

Jinan, capital city of Shandong province, plans to launch 270 projects this year with a total investment of 1.16 trillion yuan ($168.1 billion).

These projects include 187 real economy projects with an annual investment of 194.3 billion yuan covering 103 manufacturing projects and 84 service projects and 83 urban construction projects with an annual investment of 105.7 billion yuan.

A total of 22 projects covering an area of 11 million square meters will start to be constructed in Lixia district this year and most are involved in the finance sector.

The international financial city project is located at the core of the central business district. Covering 470,000 square meters, the project has completed investment attraction.

More than 10 large-scale companies' headquarters are expected to settled, Ma Yuxing, the Party secretary of Lixia district said at the groundbreaking ceremony.

In Laiwu district, a total of 80 projects with an investment of 34.9 billion yuan will be launched this year.

There are seven key projects covering intelligent manufacturing, cultural tourism, livelihood, urban construction areas. A total of 10.73 billion yuan will be invested, according to Ma Baoling, the Party secretary of Laiwu district.

Gangcheng district will launch 11 key municipal projects with a total investment of 8.16 billion yuan this year.

At the groundbreaking ceremony for the sintering system comprehensive upgrade project, Wu Shuhua, the Party secretary of Gangcheng district, introduced that the project is one of the growth driver shift projects focusing on upgrading of the steel industry.

After it is put into operation, the annual output value of Shandong Iron & Steel Group will increase by 6.5 billion yuan.
