China's per capita disposable income stood at 28,228 yuan($4265.72) in 2018, up 6.5 percent year-on-year in real terms. The average per capita disposable income grew 6.6 percent year-on-year in real terms to 14,063 yuan in the first half of 2018, official data showed.

The urban and rural per capita disposable income reached 39,251 yuan and 14,617 yuan in 2018, up 5.6 percent and 6.6 percent in real terms after deducting price factors, respectively. From January to June, the average per capita disposable income for rural residents reached 7,142 yuan, up 6.8 percent after deducting price factors, while that of urban residents increased 5.8 percent in real terms to 19,770 yuan, according to the NBS data.
In 2018, the real growth of per capita disposable income in rural areas was faster than that in urban areas, indicating narrowing of the urban-rural income gap.

The per capita consumption expenditure of the whole country was 19,853 yuan in 2018, a nominal increase of 8.4 percent over the same period in 2017, and a real increase of 6.2 percent after deducting the price factor.
The per capita consumption expenditure of urban households was 26,112 yuan, an increase of 6.8 percent; the per capita consumption expenditure of rural households was 12,124 yuan, an increase of 10.7 percent.
